there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it’s very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online… otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.
You will probably end up leaving it too long to book. depends where you are flying from because earlybird airfares in Australia to overseas is usually Europe and this year they are quite on the pricey side compared to last year. Availability fills very early (I’m looking to fly from Australia to Europe in July and August 2010 and the dates I want are already expensive dates as availability is getting quite low and this is ages away! April is the start of when it begins to get busy in the USA for travellers from Australia so you probably won’t find any discounted fares lower than is already the case. They are at almost record lows at the moment anyway when you fly from Australia.
