Disney Birthday Deals And Other “what Are You Celebrating?” Discounts?
Are there anyways to get upgrades on hotel rooms, discounts on rooms or other freebies or perks, because you’re celebrating a birthday (other than free admission), an anniversary, your honeymoon or maybe your proposing to your girlfriend (engagement)?
I’m just wondering, since their motto this year is, “What are you Celebrating?” I know they’re doing free admission on your birthday, but what about other celebration? Are they offering anything for that?
Also, is the free birthday admission only good on your exact birthday OR if you visit the park say within a week of your birthday, they’ll honor the deal?

You can always mention it when you are checking in to the hotel, and there is always a possibility that they will upgrade you if they have rooms available. But no, they aren’t “offering” that as a celebration perk or anything. You can pick up a free birthday button at Guest Relations at any of the parks, and sometimes you’ll get something, such as a free dessert.
And according to Disney’s website:
“Q: I can’t come on my birthday. Can I use the free admission on your birthday ticket on another day?
A: Unfortunately, no. The free admission on your birthday ticket means just what it says. It’s only good for free admission on the Ticket Holder’s birthday.”
The only thing I’ve heard about for that discount is the birthday. And you have to go on the DAY of your birthday, not within a week or anything. The discount only works for the person who is celebrating their birthday, nobody else. Everyone else in the party will have to pay for their admission.
I don’t think they are offering any other discounts for other celebrations. You’d have to call or check their website to find out for sure. Have fun and good luck
The Disney free birthday admission is *only* good on your exact birthday and proof (state issued ID, drivers license, passport, birth certificate for kids under 16) is required. That is the only discount they are offering with the theme this year.
If you already have a ticket, once inside you may get a special fastpass that you can use for 4 designated rides, or a fun card that is equal to the cost of a one-day admission.
Upgrades happen by chance. You might luck out if you mention you are celebrating something, but always just book what you want and can afford.
however, right now Disney is offering a great deal for those that travel by 8/15: Buy 4, Get 3 free on Resort and Tickets. Most likely, after that they will probably be offering free dining–which may or may not be a deal; for some it costs more money than going without free dining.

They don’t have any special celebration discounts going on other than free admission on your birthday. It only works for the day of your birthday, and you must register online beforehand, not just show up at the park and say it’s your birthday. There are no other perks along with the free admission on your birthday promotion, you simply get to choose one park from either Disney Land or Disney World to visit for one day.
The only other discount I know of right now is not celebration-related. For a limited time you can purchase a 4-day Disney vacation and get an additional 3 days free. However, there are only certain date ranges this goes for, and only a limited number of these discounted vacations are available. I would recommend booking soon if you wish to take advantage of this deal.
