i checked out something called appointment quest, but isnt there someway to offer online scheduling without having to pay every month?

Yes, You may use Yahoo groups- calendar and give access to Your calendar.
This way Your costumers will see when You are busy and some may access it for booking.
Google calendar and others have similar use.
